Auto-play must die [Revised]

Why, why, why do "updates" so often degrade an app instead of making it better? I get that someone thought picture-in-picture was cool, but its not cool to ram it down our throats without some way of turning it off by default. [Edit: The apps version history says that you can swipe down to get rid of that stupid distraction. After swiping down repeatedly in vain, I tried swiping up, right, and the left. Voila, left-swipe gets rid of it.

Nevertheless, I dont need or want to divide my attention between what I want to do and what Sony wants to auto-shove in my face. It just makes the app annoying.
